Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Participate and contribute to the full lifecycle of software development from planning to release
• Participate in Agile Scrum and Stand-ups
• Collaborate with the scrum team to gather requirements for test design
• Continuously produce, review, and enhance test documentation
• Learn current and new functionality of the product with a goal to improve product quality
• Report anomalies with precise title, description, and steps for anomaly reproduction for developers
• Actively contribute to release timelines with testing estimation, prioritization, and anomaly tracking
• Work with a small virtual infrastructure for test environment
• Follow Rockwell Automation's SDLC processes
• Collaborate with geographically distributed teams
• Able to work closely with QE lead and developers
• Contribute to and promote good software quality engineering practices across the team
• Troubleshoot and resolve system problems and customer issues

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in test plan design and execution, preferably focused on analytics products
• Well versed in Agile practices
• Passion for testing with the "break it" mentality
• Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Python programming language
• Hands-on experience with common tools for test automation
• Familiarity with thin (HTML5) client applications
• Experience testing products that interface with the ControlLogix platform or other industrial control systems
• Experience with troubleshooting industrial communications (such as CIP and Ethernet/IP)
• Knowledge of release and regression testing methodologies
• Knowledge of managing, booting up and decommissioning virtual machines and their snapshots in private or public (Azure) cloud is a plus
• Experience managing source code using GIT
• Excellent problem-solving skills and written and oral communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with remote teams
• Familiarity with command line scripting
• Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, QTest, Selenium
