Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Purpose: The Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring that our products meet the quality standards and are fully functional and user friendly. This role is responsible for planning test strategy, development and execution of test plans and test case automation for our products. The engineer is part of a software delivery team and collaborates with the product owner in user testing initiatives.

Our Setup

• The team works in a two-week iteration model and follows SCRUM as the basis of our software development process.
• We use Jira to track our user stories, chores, and bugs.

Duties and responsibilities

• Plan the test strategy for applications and products
• Develop, maintain and execute manual test plans for features and products
• Automate and maintain sanity, feature and regression test suite.
• Perform release/regression testing for our product updates. 
• Identify, document and track bugs 
• Offer deep defect root cause analysis and root cause solutions. 
• Be able to estimate testing effort and prioritize assignments. 
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Competencies

• Experience with maintaining documented test plans in a test management system.
• Experience with test automation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
• Experience with agile development methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban is a plus.
• The ability to work well independently or on a team.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skills

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance including automation, required
• Experience with C# and Unity Testing Framework
• Experience with Android on-device automated testing is a plus
• Experience with QTest tools is a plus
• Experience with automation using Ruby, Selenium, Cucumber and Capybara framework is a plus.
• Experience with postman and API testing is a plus.

Required Education & Certifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field

Required Experience

• 2+ years of experience testing applications
• Experience with Unity Testing Framework

Additional Information

Job Type

• Full Time
• 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday

Work Environment & Physical Demands 
Incumbent works from home and is expected to maintain a safe, productive work environment with secure internet access. The ability to operate a computer with or without a reasonable accommodation is required.

Travel 

Travel to Lingraphica’s home office and to cities within the continental United States for company related meetings and conferences are required two times per year.
