Position Description/Job Responsibilities:

KBR is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to join an Integrated Product Team that oversees the development of an operational mission planning product for Naval aircrew and Foreign Military Sales customer in NAS Patuxent River, MD

Performs all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software for scientific/engineering applications. Create prototypes. Perform internal testing of software products. Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements. Determine software maintainability and overall adherence to user requirements. Generate program design language and code based on department standards. Generate/update project documents. Key areas of specialization are: -Applications Programmer/ Analyst: Analyzes and evaluates systems and devises computer specifications and systems for scientific/engineering applications to process data. Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs operating programs and procedures. - Engineering Support: Participates with engineering in the design, development, and utilization of scientific/engineering electronic data processing systems software. Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. Participates in the development of engineering test strategies, devices and systems. Performs all other duties as assigned. MS in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or other related field and no experience, or BA/BS in related field and 2 years of related experience, or AA in related field and 6 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 years of related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

Role and Responsibilities:

• designing, developing and executing test plans and procedures to ensure high-availability and performance of Agile / SAFe software development projects
• working with the technical leads to coordinate and prioritize tasks via backlogs for planning sprints and schedules
• working with the team to ensure builds and baselines accurately reflect versions of software related to test phases
• ensuring all testing documentation are produced and configuration controlled
• evaluating COTS/GOTS solutions for alternative methods of testing
• participating in automated test case development

Requirements

• Experience working in Agile environment
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in IT
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with existing Department of Defense security clearance or eligibility to gain a clearance.
• Minimum education is BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience with software test execution in one or more of the following areas: system-level testing, system-integration testing, user-acceptance testing, load testing and automated test scripting/execution.
• Previous test planning and reporting experience is also desired.
• Experience developing or testing NAVAIR software projects
• Experience with naval mission planning systems
• Experience with Team Foundation Server
• Experience developing automated tests
