How You Will Contribute:

The Platform Sanity and Regression Test team is an integral part of the software development lifecycle. We are responsible for ensuring that our products maintain high quality standards by leveraging Python to automate tests, capture metrics, and raise awareness of issues found. The successful candidate will work closely with HW designers, SW designers and systems architects and will perform some of the following tasks:

• Develop and support a suite of automated tests using Python to help the software design teams deliver product solutions and new features to the market across RLS and 6500 platforms,
• Help develop applications and automation solutions used to test the capabilities of the 6500 and RLS platforms,
• Configure and connect nodes and test sets in the lab,
• Maintain and develop dashboards using various visualization tools (Kibana, Grafana, etc.)

The Must Haves:

• A bachelor’s degree or 3-year college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent
• Foundational knowledge of Python or other scripting language (Perl, TCL, Expect, etc.)
• Comfort working with HW in the lab, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Assets:

• Knowledge and experience with Python based test frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework, etc.)
• Experience working with a Linux based workstation

Compensation and Benefits

The annual pay range for this position is $50,100 - $80,000 CAD.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
