Software Test Manager

You will join the MX firmware QA team that is fully embedded within Software Engineering. The QA team builds and runs any and all software and hardware tests to ensure that new releases meet our quality and reliability standards. Our products are used in over a million networks and our customers rely on our products to serve tens of millions of people. With the large footprint that we have, quality is our highest priority. We are looking for a senior QA test automation engineer who is as passionate about quality as we are. Your contributions will make a direct impact to the success of our business. Meraki engineers put customer experience first, own projects from beginning to end, and are empowered to make impactful decisions!

You will lead a qualified team of QA engineers in delivering quality MX products at scale in an exciting innovative environment. You will act as a cheerleader and coach for your team members to allow the team to excel by encouraging all the team member’s strengths and diverse interests. You will work with your leader peers from Engineering and PM to develop the roadmap and vision of the next generation of MX architecture and feature set.

Duties will include leading all aspects of team activities and providing mentorship and guidance to the team. Your vision and Meraki business objectives will shape the team roadmap and charter. As the team leader, you will be responsible for Systems and Performance testing to ensure quality at scale of all MX features and platforms. In addition, you will look after all testing efforts of MX Advanced Security Features. You will also provide code reviews and help remove obstacles for the team when needed. You will perform regular 1:1s, performance appraisals and craft team goals.

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• 1 or more years as a Manager or team lead in QA or Software testing
• 7+ years of proven experience in networking or security services testing
• Ability to provide code reviews for team
• Proven experience with core network protocols such as VLAN, TCP/IP, BGP, IPv6, etc.
• Experience mentoring team, coaching, giving performance appraisals, 1:1s and crafting team goals (such as OKRs)
• Experience with hiring processes, interviews and building a mixed team
• Very proficient with SDLC and testing life cycle

• Performance testing using equipment such as Ixia or Spirent
• Experience with Python or Ruby test automation
• Using development infrastructure tools, such as Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, JIRA
• Someone who has led testing efforts for various Security features on Enterprise appliances
• Agile development skills like Scrum and Kanban
