Software Tester - Product Solutions Engineering

The PSE team is looking for a new Software Tester to participate in the creation and delivery of quality (effective, usable, performant, and bug-free) embedded display, instrumentation, infotainment and control system solutions for tow sport boats, watercraft, off-road vehicles, motorcycles, and other vehicle, vessel, equipment applications. In this position you will take ownership of rooting out issues, collaborating on solutions and serving as an advocate for quality software products. You will develop a strong technical understanding of our products, tools, and capabilities, and you will leverage this knowledge, your expertise and experience to support at each phase in the software development and software quality assurance process.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Conduct software verification and validation testing to ensure that software products conform to design specifications and customer requirements
• Work within an Agile software development environment with tight communication and iteration between cross functional and distributed teams
• Create and iteratively revise test plans and testing methods to ensure coverage
• Document defects and communicate results directly to software product stakeholders and monitor-support resolution activity
• Help to identify and execute initiatives that improve Test/QA process, efficiency, and coverage

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related Science/Technology field of study, OR equivalent training and experience

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Software Test/QA experience in a fast-moving agile environment
• Experience testing applications end to end
• Supporting the creation and maintenance of test plans and test methods that assess software functionality compliance and performance
• Executing tests, documenting results, and helping to diagnose problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate technical information in a clear and succinct manner
• Must have high attention to detail and strong sense of urgency
• Ability to quickly learn new software/hardware tools for executing tests
• Ability to work with minimum supervision both independently and collaboratively
• Experience testing embedded applications, connected devices, infotainment applications focused on UI/UX, and/or mobile applications (iOS & Android) is preferred
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar backlog/tracking tools is a plus
• Experience in creating automated test scripts and knowledge of automated test tools is a plus
• Experience with user/usability testing methods is a plus
• Experience with engine and vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN) is a plus
