Solution Architect

Job Description
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex transportation solutions. The Solution Architect is expected to have a breadth of knowledge for all aspects of the system on both the technical and delivery details. Successful candidate will have the opportunity to get hand on with the following:

• Defining solutions and responding to industry RFP's
• Create and prototyping new solutions
• Delve deep into any product areas from the roadside hardware to cloud based products
• Researching and recommending technologies and techniques to improve overall solution
• Building conceptual, logical, and physical architectures

The Solution Architect will become a subject matter expert on ETC's roadside and cloud solutions. This position will work with multiple teams of varying skills sets in a collaborative process. A successful candidate will have the ability to lead a team and to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical staff.

This position includes the following duties. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

• Partner with other Architects, Engineers, Developers, and Business Leaders to lead the teams in defining and implementing solutions.
• Support management with technology assessments and investigations in accordance with the company's technology roadmap.
• Assist with the creation, optimization, and delivery methods for existing solutions.
• Conceptualize and influence application and interface projects and provide advice to steer to desired outcomes.
• Breadth of knowledge in established and emerging technologies including roadside hardware, cloud solutions, predictive analytics, data visualization, and machine learning technologies.
• Understand the big picture when evaluating data from the perspective of the entire organization.
• Ability to impact the organization by being a respected and influential team member, concept articulation, persuasive speaking, and enthusiastic.

Experience and Skills

• Lead cross functional teams in defining and implementing complex roadside solutions.
• Keep pace with technology trends and providing technology adoption and/or migration strategies
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and communicate with management and customers
• Strong Analytical skills to absorb a lot of information and translate it into a useable blueprint.
• Attention to detail ensuring reduction of risk in outages and inaccuracies.
• Logical Thinking ensuring code and data is easily turned into logical patterns for analysis.
• Problem-Solving skills allowing effective and timely solutions.
• Desire to learn all aspects of Tolling including software, hardware, and business
• Knowledge of modern cloud databases
• Understanding of Graph Databases design and theory
• Understanding of Roadside Products or similar industry

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent science-based degree. Work experience highly valued.
