Job Description

The solution architect plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap for integrating an acquired company's processes and/or technologies into Rockwell Automation, as appropriate. The architect partners with business and technology groups to ensure alignment with Rockwell Automation direction and strategy.

Responsible for translating the client's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex IT solutions and integrating architecture. Acts as an authority on the architecture designed to address integration requirements. Provides direction for design activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad business process understanding including market to quote and order to cash for product, SaaS, and professional services.
  • Broad technology knowledge with ERP solutions including SAP, network and cloud environments, and CRM tools including Salesforce
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, management information systems or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience building strategic technology plans and roadmaps
  • Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions (e.g., VMware, Citrix)
  • Knowledge of architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks and patterns
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to partner with multiple stakeholders and influence project decisions
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
  • Assesses the acquired company's current IT environment and develops a future state IT architecture in partnership with the IT M&A team, Enterprise Architecture, and capability teams
  • Provides cross-product/cross-technology expertise to the mergers and acquisition team and acquired companies
  • Provides input on and evaluates solution design and is consulted during planning
  • Engages with the business and teams during ideation and design, guides technology selection, develops architectural artifacts in partnership with lead engineer and development team(s) and ensures compliance with security, identity and access management, Enterprise Architecture, etc.
  • Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
  • Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent technology framework is applied across mergers and acquisitions, maintains awareness and visibility of organizational standards and best practices
  • Supports the design and modeling of tactical architectures for the delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Supports the design and management of reference architectures
  • Promotes the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flows
  • Introduces and accelerates new technologies and methodologies to support mergers and acquisitions
  • Brings a customer experience lens to IT strategy
