Job Overview

TE Connectivity's IT Architecture Teams report into the Global Chief Architect who, assisted by Enterprise Architects establishes the direction for Business Architecture, Technology Architecture, 5-Year IT Strategy & Roadmap, Business/IT Strategy Alignment, Standards and Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes. The Business Architecture Teams specialize in TE business capabilities and align the supporting TEIS strategies and capabilities. The Solution Architecture Teams implement solution architecture and design for all tiers of IT solutions, namely Application, Information and Infrastructure. Application architects specialize in one or more major applications (e.g. SAP, SFDC, PLM). Information Architecture Teams specialize in one or more data domains (e.g. Parts, Employees, Customers etc.). Infrastructure Architects specialize in one or more infrastructure components (e.g. Network, Servers). In compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards and ARB processes, IT solutions utilize core or emerging technologies in rent-buy-build mode considering key factors such as service delivery and cost.

As part of TE's core Cloud Platform team (within the Global Infrastructure Solutions COE), the Cloud Solution Architect (SA) will work within the guidelines of TE's cloud strategy, standards, framework, and will have a key role with the design, build, and optimization of TE's hybrid cloud (multi-cloud and "on-premise") architecture and solutions, with a focus on our cloud platform. Our Global Infrastructure Solutions team support the building blocks used by all TE's application services, and our cloud platforms have an emphasis on high reliability & availability, cost optimization, security, as well as ease of use to install high levels of developer confidence in running essential services.

The SA will report directly to the Sr. Manager for Cloud and work closely with our cloud ops engineers as well as other solution architects across our technical towers to ensure a well thought out alignment of solutions and decision when it comes to how we deploy and utilize our cloud services. A large part of this role will also include project consulting, evaluating new services, documenting cloud service solution designs & best practices, participating & engaging with our CSP account teams, providing input and guidance to our cloud ops engineers, and participating in strategy discussions.

Responsibilities:

• Become well versed with TE's current cloud platform architecture, guide rails (policies, organizational setup, controls, checks, etc.) to provide assistance with Tier 3 troubleshooting
• Provide a lead role in the planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new cloud services / functionality (hands on)
• Participate in cloud related project planning & solutioning meetings, providing consulting services to TE's application teams
• Provide overall design / best practice guidance for AWS services that considers our organizational postures
• Work with our operational engineering team to produce well written, technical detailed documentation for our internal team's Wiki as well as supporting material for our Cloud Governance and Framework artifact
• Collaborate with other technical towers to ensure overall infrastructure (platform) alignment of solutions (hybrid) as well as security alignment
• Stay abreast of current cloud service offerings, capabilities, and features by way of training and advocacy communication with our technical account teams
• Help drive productivity and service reliability through automation

What your background should look like:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related degree
• 5+ years' experience in a technical role related to the Computer Science and technology field (At least 3+ of those years in the cloud service space)
• 2+ years' experience as a technical lead
• Excellent understanding of AWS core services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connects, Subnets/Route Tables, EBS/EFS/S3, AWS Backup, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Organizations/Service Control Policies, Route53 Resolver, Tagging, CloudWatch, PrivateLink, EC2, RDS, IAM)
• Good understanding of cloud security services (Guard Duty, Inspector, AWS Config, IAM)
• Ability to execute and work "hands on" with cloud services through the console or CLI
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Self-driven and able to work in an agile team within a large enterprise organization, as well as independently
• Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts
• Desire to learn and grow in the current role
• General understanding of infrastructure solution concepts (DNS, network LAN/WAN, virtualization technologies, active directory, database technologies, Windows/Linux operating systems, load balancing)
• DevOps & automation experience (CodePipeline, Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus
• Active AWS SA Associate Certification (Professional a plus)

Compensation
Competitive pay commensurate with experience: $130,000 to $135,000 salary (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
