Solution Architect / Senior Java Developer
Job Description
SFI is seeking a Solution Architect/Sr. Java Developer to join our team supporting a Federal Agency in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. As a key member of our team, the Solution Architect/Sr. Java Developer will interface with the customers and lead/manage a range of activities including requirements collection and analysis, technical architecture design, software design, implementation, debugging, as well as enhancing existing systems. Prior experience leading large, enterprise-level software development efforts is a critical requisite for this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with a scrum team of 5-10 to architect and design software applications utilizing best technology practices to design and implement a scalable, secure, end-to-end software product
- Experience in Java, Spring, Sprint boot, REST, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, HTML / HTML5, CSS, NoSQL databases, AWS
- Experience with AWS tools, applications development, and migration
- Interface directly with customer and act as a solution provider for a variety of business problems
- Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements
- Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools
- Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
- Effective verbal and written communication with senior-level management and leadership on the customer side
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 8+ years or more of software development experience and leading software development projects
- 8 + years or more of experience in designing and developing software applications in Java, Spring boot, Spring frameworks, Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc), REST API's
- 5 years or more of experience coding HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript and Web components
- Experience implementing automated unit tests
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git etc
- AWS services 3 years: (ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, TSDB, logging/CloudWatch, IAM, SQS, etc) with federated Identity
- Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale
- Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Azure Devops etc
- Experience using Agile/Scrum methodology, with a high-level understanding of concepts of user story, backlog, velocity, devops and cloud
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent software development projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to maintain an effective working relationship with development teams and customers

- Public Trust background investigations can take approximately four to eight weeks and requires fingerprinting.
Other Information:
- The salary for this position is $90,000 - $160,000 annually
