Job Description Summary
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to play key role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the Rockwell's technology strategy and processes. The Solution Architect will partner with business and technology groups to ensure alignment of technology solutions with the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides cross-product/cross-technology expertise to capability teams, provides input on and evaluates solution design and is consulted during release planning (e.g., standards for database design; determination of primary keys, etc)
- Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies (Technical Debt) used by the applications and processes, or misalignment with business requirements.
- Partners with IT and business leaders to act as an advisor to strategic planning efforts aligned to organizational priority, vision, and roadmap.
- Helps business leaders, product owners and product managers, clarify their objectives and expectations for advancing digital experience investment(s)
- Engages with the business and teams during ideation and design, guides technology selection, develops architectural artifacts in partnership with lead engineer and dev team(s) and ensure compliance with security, identity and access management, Enterprise Architecture, etc.
- Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture that introduces and accelerates new technologies and methodologies to support digital transformation.
- Supports product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services, or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information
- Brings a customer experience lens to IT strategy.
- Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions.
- Assesses the current IT environment and develops a future state IT architecture in partnership with Enterprise Architecture
- Supports the design and modeling of tactical architectures for the delivery, development, and support of projects.
- Supports the design and management of reference architectures.
- Supports and maintain the health of the Enterprise Application Portfolio Management Systems (APM) and CMDB.
- Partners with other solution architects to provide secure, scalable and adaptable architectural solutions.
- Promotes the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flows
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in building strategic technology plans and roadmaps.
- Experience in designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure and Cloud solutions (e.g., VxRails, VMware, Citrix, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with Virtualization products and Cloud based technologies. (v Realize Automation (vRA, CI/CD pipelines, Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering
- Hands-on experience with DevOps architectural tools (Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Docker, etc.)
- Working experience with Linux and Windows Operating systems
- Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks and patterns
- Ability to partner with multiple stakeholders and influence project decisions.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must exhibit excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
