Dow has an exciting opportunity for an IT Solution Manager located in Midland, MI; Houston, TX; or Terneuzen, Netherlands! The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.
About you and this role
As an IT Solution Manager, you will own a portfolio of solutions and systems (applications) and manage its lifecycle (including analysis, design, implementation/adoption, optimization, and end-of-life retirement of digital solutions), to deliver advanced functional and business capabilities. You will work hand-in-hand with a multi-disciplinary IT expert team (analysts, designers, developers, etc.) to deliver innovative digital solutions. In this role, you will orchestrate functional and technical requirements analysis, with an emphasis on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, and reliability. You will be responsible for the oversight of the development, optimization, implementation, and adoption of solutions leveraging best-in-class mobile, web, desktop, and cloud technologies. You will identify opportunities for innovating with digital capabilities aiming to accelerate Dow's digital transformation.
In this role, you will own the cross-functional discussion surrounding the Finance order to cash area, which includes indirect tax, tax reporting, create invoice, rebate agreement, account receivable and intercompany operation.
Responsibilities
- Explores, analyzes, and maps business and function requirements
- Maps user journeys, user experience, and user stories (user features) to facilitate employee experience (EX)/customer experience (CX) transformation
- Owns and drives the full solution lifecycle, including functional technical design - solution architecture, buy vs make decisions - and integration of third-party off-the-shelf software
- Develops, integrates, tests, and builds solutions with the ability to operate in both waterfall and agile environment, and ensures compliance to corporate standards, architecture guidelines, and information security policies
- Supports implementation and user adoption
- Selects and defines supplier and team support models
- Defines controls, measures, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for solution performance and reliability
- Coordinates with other managers for end-to-end process optimization and integration
- Defines a solution(s) portfolio improvement and innovation roadmap with proper sequencing and prioritization of projects, and helps assess resource, technology, and investment needed in delivering against the roadmap
- Supports and fosters a community of solution experts and acts as a thought leader in their domain
- Assists with workload analysis for teams to ensure proper resource alignment for capacity planning
- Assists with financial management by managing solution lifecycle costs
- Works with stakeholders to understand and enable merger, acquisition & divestiture (MA&D) activities, as needed
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, 8 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher
- A minimum of 5 years of SAP-SD experience
- For U.S. Applicants: A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Preferred Skills
- A degree in IT or related technical discipline
- Cross functional modules experience as integration point with SAP Material Management and SAP Finance
- Experience with intercompany operations and indirect tax
- Experience with a minimum of one full SAP cycle implementation including design, build, test, and hypercare support
