Join us as a Solutions Analyst within our Enterprise Reporting Systems group!

Position Summary:

As a Solutions Analyst, you are part of a technical team responsible for delivering solutions for data and reporting requests and projects. You will work closely with business users to understand and identify problems, engineer solutions using wide range of technology tools. You will manage communication with the business users and the technical audiences. As a Solutions Analyst, you will also participate and adhere to all phases of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) guidelines. In this position, manage a team of junior Analysts, providing daily oversight, support, coaching and training and leading and managing major projects.

Solutions Analysis:

  • Engage stakeholders and present probing questions to elicit pertinent and accurate information to identify business problems and areas of improvement
  • Provide consultation and presentation to various business areas requiring subject matter expertise on data and reporting solutions
  • Demonstrate and recommend appropriate and optimal technology solutions to improve business operations and processes
  • Recognize opportunities beyond the underlying business needs and issues to guide stakeholders in exploring areas of opportunities
  • Perform business and technical analysis to develop, organize and synthesize complex information to formulate business, functional, and non-functional requirements and produce process diagrams and structured requirements document
  • Conceptualize, develop, and create modules, wire frames and/or proof-of-concept, enabling stakeholders to understand the new capabilities, boundaries, dependencies, constraints, and assumptions from a business perspective
  • Evaluate and engineer optimal solution that best delivers on all aspects of requirements and initiative to secure stakeholder and project team buy-ins
  • Provide ongoing support, maintenance and enhancements for all existing products and services

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Reporting platforms and technology tools, offer training and knowledge sharing opportunities

  • Self-manage and work within strong deadlines while producing high quality
  • Multi-task and manage competing priorities and projects

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor team of analysts in accomplishing goals and assigned projects
  • Oversee project assignment and actively manage progress of project to ensure quality of work and timely execution
  • Identify areas of excellence and improvement for each team member
  • Encourage and engage in career development dialogue discussions and plans
  • Identify and address gaps in knowledge and technical proficiencies and participate in training
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for both technical skill sets and specific business areas
  • Identify process improvements for the division to continually improve efficiency and lower the cost of doing business

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and + 7 years of related work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Oral communication skills including the ability to facilitate effective meetings and to deliver presentations
  • Consultative and advisory skills with a proven ability to build confidence in interacting with internal clients
  • Ability to recognize one's own strengths and limitations, taking appropriate initiative to pursue development activities and seek assistance as needed
  • Creative and effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to take action in solving problems, while exhibiting a realistic understanding of the scope of the issue
  • Ability to take ownership and initiative
  • Highly organized and able to manage priorities and multiple work streams

  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with a client's evolving needs
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Basic technical knowledge (e.g., Cognos and other BI tools and basic SQL script writing abilities)
  • Proficiency using windows-based applications
