The Solutions Architect is a senior member of our Professional Services team. Cloudera Solutions Architects act as technical leads and work on some of the most exciting distributed data projects at private and public sector organisations. Engage from Proof of Concept (PoC) stages through to production implementation on complex distributed environments. You will inspire, lead and collaboratively work with customers to advise them on the implementation of reference enterprise data architectures, identify and drive development of use cases and optimize processing performance following root cause analysis. Form part of a team that will foster a long-standing relationship with our customers.

As a Solutions Architect you will…

• Motivate and enable our customers on their Enterprise Data Cloud journey

• Participate in the pre and post sales process, helping both the sales and product teams to interpret customer use cases

• Drive POCs with customers to successful completion

• Design and implement Enterprise Data Cloud architectures and configurations for customers

• Work directly with customer technical resources to devise, recommend and implement solutions based on the understood requirements

• Recommend best practice design patterns for distributed data pipelines and analytical computing architectures

• Plan and deliver presentations and workshops to customer/internal stakeholders

• Mentor junior consultants

• Assist in the technical hiring process

• Write and produce technical documentation, blogs and knowledgebase articles

We're excited about you if you have:

• A passion for solving real world problems with cutting edge technology

• Customer facing/consulting experience interacting with large scale distributed data/computing solutions

• Strong experience with Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem or related technologies including deployment & administration

• Hands on experience with Cloud Platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

• Experience with open source ecosystem programming languages (i.e. Python, Java, Scala etc.)

• Knowledge of the data management ecosystem including: Concepts of data warehousing, ETL, data integration, etc.

• Experience implementing data transformation and processing solutions on Hadoop or related technologies (i.e. HDFS, HIVE, Impala, HBase, NiFi etc.)

• Strong understanding of authentication (i.e. LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, Kerberos etc.) & authorization configuration for Hadoop based distributed systems

• Ability to travel ~20%
