Solutions Architect

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Trading Systems Infrastructure team. We build and maintain trading infrastructure hyper-optimized for low-latency starting from the bare metal, on premise and in the cloud. Our trading strategies run worldwide 24/7.

We need a highly skilled Solutions Architect focusing on AWS for our dynamic team. This is a critical role for us to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions on our AWS Linux crypto trading platform.

Responsibilities:

• Own, standardize, and implement the technical requirements of high frequency crypto trading systems in the AWS cloud based on the business needs for performance and reliability.
• Integrate seamlessly with the existing systems on premise and in the cloud.
• Use Python to develop automation scripts and tools to support this effort.
• Use Terraform and Salt (we are committed to IaC) to ensure platform consistency and scalability.
• Optimize bare metal performance, both on premise and in cloud environments.
• Explore and apply network latency optimization techniques.
• Enlist and support internal teams throughout the implementation process.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven deep experience as a Solutions Architect with a focus on AWS, in a high frequency trading environment or equivalent performance focused role.
• Very strong in Linux system administration and system engineering.
• Proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting tasks.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Salt (or equivalent tooling) for convergent infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Strong experience with managing hardware components
• Strong AWS and on-premise application-side networking experience
• Communication skills are key to be successful in this role

Pluses:

• Proven experience with AWS internals
• AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Strong knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
• Deep understanding of financial markets and trading systems.
