Solutions Architect

We engage with customers all the way through their journey with Fastly. We start by building Proofs Of Concepts to demonstrate what our products are capable of. We also continue to work with customers as they get on-board helping implement our services with them. We deliver training sessions and help identify where customers might benefit from changes or other services of ours for better performance.

We work flexibly, with a focus on delivering quality service to customers. Solutions Architects join our team with a wealth of experiences. Sharing their skills and wisdom, as well as learning from colleagues progressing towards technical, or leadership roles.

What You'll Do

• Work with new customers to integrate Fastly into their systems during their on-boarding
• Provide existing customers guidance on additional features and performance tuning.
• Write and present training materials to customers and internal teams
• Work with Sales Engineers to build Proof Of Concepts for prospective customers

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of HTTP and web application implementation
• Troubleshooting supporting protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, TLS)
• Demonstrated coding knowledge including having built projects in one of Go, JavaScript, or Rust
• Fluent in English
• Produced architecture plans for large projects and led them to successful completion
• Written training materials and mentored junior team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in additional programming languages (Rust, JavaScript, Go)
• Written and deployed automated testing and continuous integration / continuous deployment systems
• Worked with infrastructure automation / configuration management systems
• Experience deploying and managing HTTP caching proxies (Application Delivery Controllers / Content Delivery Networks)

  Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.  

  This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $113,220 to $166,500.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
