Solutions Architect

BlueChip Financial (BCF) is looking for a qualified Solutions Architect who loves building software to help drive our company's growth. This position reports directly to the CTO.

In this role, you will

• Design and implement solutions that meet the needs of the business while also being technically feasible and cost-effective
• Bridge the gap between business and IT by translating technical requirements into technical specifications
• Build and help lead strategy in building out our core enterprise architecture.
• Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications in the appropriate detail
• Identify and influence the solution to complex technical issues. Build prototypes and POC's to promote new technologies and processes
• Lead by example, delivering high-quality code for critical sections of the product and/or platform; champion quality standards, performance and scalability
• Provide cross-functional coordination and communication, and mentor less senior team members.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience as a hands-on Solutions Architect. Any startup experience would be a plus
• Possess a deep understanding of the financial industry. Any prior experience within the credit card or lending domain would be a plus
• Expertise with implementing architecture and design that spans across frontend engineering, backend engineering, data engineering and devops
• At least 5 years experience with a cloud provider (AWS is a plus)
• Proven experience building and deploying scalable apps using modern cloud platform technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ElasticBeanTalk, AWS Lambda, and EKS)
• Expert proficiency in multiple back-end languages (e.g., Java, Javascript/Typescript, Scala, Python) Scala would be a plus
• Expertise with API development (REST, GraphQL)
• Have deep experience with devops activities and practices
• Work knowledge around big data, data engineering, and data as a service would be a plus
• Machine learning and AI experience would be a plus
• Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases
• Extensive experience with event processing mechanisms (e.g.: AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• A strong understanding of concurrent, parallel, and distributed systems
• Proficient in test-driven development (TDD) and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices

Location and Travel

BCF is headquartered in Belcourt, North Dakota, with offices in Minneapolis, San Diego, and Atlanta. This position can be located at any of these offices. BCF expects a hybrid work environment with a two-day in-office policy. Travel should be relatively limited, around 10-15% per month when needed.
