Description

Sparksoft is seeking a Solutions Architect who has expertise in AWS cloud migration and architecture (e.g. application assessment for cloud movement, design, and plan cloud movement POC end to end) for a fast paced project. In this role the architect will evaluate and recommend specific products and platforms to provide cost effective solutions that meet architectural requirements.

Responsibilities:

• The Solution Architect will be the technical team member in our fast-paced growing environment supporting new business capture by developing innovative solutions.
• Responsible for defining and driving the technical direction of prospective business opportunities, developing system architectures, and providing technical leadership for proposals and strategic pursuits.
• Assess market-level technology trends as well as capabilities of complementary solutions enabling larger-scale solution offerings.
• Ability to develop architectural blueprints, roadmap, strategy documents against transformational requirements such as cloud migrations, hybrid cloud setup, assessment of application movement to public cloud etc.
• Propose new and innovative solutions to the most complex challenges.
• Develop IT-based solutions consisting of contextual, conceptual, and logical architectures using standards-based, rigorous methodologies and best practices.
• Capable of building & providing impromptu technical solution to client
• Strong Back End skills including experience in building APIs, microservices, and database design
• Front-end development skills including Single Page Applications with Angular.
• Strong mentor of other team members for skills development, coding standards, and coaching.
• The ability to create supporting documentation for solutions is a must including sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams and entity-relationship diagrams.
• Develop technical approach and project engineering plans, including scheduling of tasks, and processes, and identifying critical resources, to turn the solution into a successful proposal.
• Review customer-provided information and outside sources to understand potential issues/ problems currently faced and develop an approach to solving these problems.
• Stay current on the latest technologies and solutions in the industry.
• Engage as a strong Agile team member with the ability to impact process improvement, quality, and productivity of the team.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in microservices, middleware/software integration, mobile, and web application platforms, authentication, and automation.
• Perform POCs, identify potential solutions and help implement them.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Experience in architecting and supporting the development of projects involving Java 8 (or higher version), spring boot, microservices, and advanced programming constructs like AOP, concurrency, and multithreading in the AWS cloud environment.
• Experience developing/architecting containerized cloud-based solutions with a good understanding of AWS services like EC2, RDS, S3, KMS, AWS CLI, Networking, AWS Security, IAM, etc.
• Ability to architect or design optional solutions in the cloud environment with diverse participants including tech leads and business stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience building POC and documenting architecture proposals through clear and comprehensive diagrams, use cases, and written documents
• Ability to syndicate and communicate clearly and concisely architecture designs and proposals to others
• Fluent in object-oriented design, industry best practices, software patterns, security, and architecture principles.
• Experience defining and documenting architecture strategies, designs, and requirements across all enterprise architecture domains - business, information systems (applications & data), and technology.
• Good understanding of architecture design mechanisms and steps including logical/conceptual, business, and physical architectures. Ability to map between these constructs.
• Intimate understanding of JVM runtimes, resource constraints, garbage collectors, and ability to code efficiently in the face of those constraints.
• Experience with Kubernetes - scheduling, resource management, networking, communication, security, config-maps, ingress controllers, etc.
• Experience deploying container applications using DevOps tools (GitOps, Helm, and Kustomize) Good to have development experience with Custom Resource Definitions.
• Good understanding of serverless or vendor-managed Container orchestration platforms like Fargate and ECS.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, 8+ years in architecting and implementing secure, reliable, scalable & resilient hosting environments.
• 5+ years of experience in AWS.
• 3+ years of experience designing, managing, and operationalizing the large-scale Kubernetes cluster on AWS.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification is preferred.
