Your Mission 

As a Solutions Architect at SADA, with a specialization in Data and Analytics, you will have significant knowledge and experience with “everything Big Data.” You will have held different roles throughout your extensive career enabling you to work with many different technologies and industries. You’ll also love talking to customers, and helping guide them through their Google Cloud journey with your Big Data technology expertise and experience.

As part of your role, you will collaborate with our customers, sales teams, engineering teams, and Googlers. You will be responsible for overseeing Data & Analytics sales deals both big and small. You’ll be taking complex business problems from our customers, and digesting them into actionable proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) for our Engineering and Project Management teams to execute on.

To do this, you’ll run scoping and discovery calls, you’ll meet with our own teams, Google’s teams, and the customer to gather requirements, form proposals, share your vision, and provide estimates for the solutions you propose. You will design world class data-architectures and solve hard problems on behalf of our customers, and you’ll set our project delivery teams up for success.

You will have a hands-on approach, researching and presenting solutions, conducting experiments, and building prototypes to validate ideas and demonstrate the effectiveness of the solutions you recommend.

What you would be doing on a daily basis:

• With your expertise in Big Data on GCP, you will be the technical face of SADA during the pre-sales cycle
• You will lead pre-sales scoping calls with our customers, break down complex business problems, build out proposals, and eventually write a Statement of Work for our project teams to execute on
• You will work collaboratively with our sales and presales-engineering teams to develop proposals for a wide range of projects: greenfield data warehouse implementations, data transformation and orchestration, migration of data warehouses to GCP. Anything Big Data in GCP, you’ll be the expert

You will inspire cross-functional leadership from our pre-sales teams. You will be trusted to guide small and large engagements from ideation all the way up to project execution, and you’ll be given the freedom to design and propose new solutions that meet customer needs.

You will establish yourself as a renowned Big Data specialist within SADA, earning a reputation with customers and with the SADA & Google Cloud sales and professional services teams for your wide-ranging domain knowledge. Account executives, Cloud Engineers, architects, and engineers will routinely defer to your expertise when it comes to anything Big Data. In your role, you'll lead client-oriented technical conversations. Collaborating with client architects and technology heads, as well as CEOs and business owners, you will turn business problems into technical solutions.

Success will be measured by sales bookings, deals won, and by your contributions to the team’s goals.

Expectations

Customer Facing - This is a customer-facing role. You will interact with customers on a daily basis. You will frequently lead calls and customer meetings to help qualify engagements with our sales and Cloud Engineering teams. You will present solutions, architectures, proposals, SOWs, demos, and other technical materials to build trust and confidence in SADA’s ability to take the customer through their cloud adoption journey. 

Big Data Expert – You will be known as the Subject Matter Expert for all things Big Data within the presales side of the house. You’ll work closely with our account teams to help close deals, while also coordinating with our engineering and architecture teams on the delivery side to ensure you are setting their projects up for success. You don’t need to know everything, but you should be prepared to be comfortable with learning on the go, picking up new skills, and digging into a wide array of problems that our customers bring.

Onboarding/Training - The first several weeks of onboarding are dedicated to learning and will encompass learning materials/assignments and compliance training, as well as meetings with relevant individuals. Details of the timeline are shared closer to the start date.

Job Requirements

Required Credentials:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or similar field
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the Big Data field on Google Cloud Platform or similar
• Google Professional Data Engineer or able to complete one of the above within the first 90 days of employment 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering and architecture, with a focus on cloud-based environments
• Extremely comfortable talking to customers and leading meetings
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying scalable, reliable, and enterprise-grade data solutions and managing them in production
• Prior experience in designing, building, and managing robust, user-friendly data pipelines in the cloud
• Ability to evaluate and select suitable technologies and frameworks to meet specific data project needs, while assessing risks and trade-offs
• Proficiency in designing scalable, high-performance, and secure data architectures
• Ability to architect, scope, and prioritize work based on feedback from the customer or internal teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data architecture and cloud computing. 
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing business requirements and technologies in a fast-paced environment 
• Experience with Google’s BigQuery, or similar data warehouse technologies like RedShift or Snowflake 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in development with languages commonly used in data processing, such as SQL, Python, or Java
• Experience facilitating technical design sessions, architecting and documenting data solutions aligned with client business objectives, and identifying gaps between the client's current and desired end states.
• Experience in intricate, long-term data projects. Examples may include transitioning from one cloud to another, re-architecting monolithic data systems into microservices, or implementing large-scale new data applications on the cloud.
• Experience working with customers in a consulting capacity, including persuading them to adopt more efficient technologies and processes.
• Experience delivering real-time data applications using streaming data technologies like Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or Amazon Kinesis
• Experience using Google Cloud Platform, particularly server less (Cloud Functions) and platforms (Dataflow, BigQuery, DataProc, DataForm)

Bonus Qualifications:

• Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Any familiarity with Machine Learning, AI, or Generative AI
• Experience with cloud data offerings and solutions (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS).
