Job Description

The Solution Architect develops, integrates, and implements system architecture and related components that will meet business needs along with providing technical and domain expertise related to applications in the Supply Chain area. Assesses the current systems architecture in place working with the systems analysts and recommend solutions to improve it. Provides supervision and guidance to develop teams. Accountable and Responsible for implementing standards, best practices and technology road map in area of responsibility.
• Reviews business requirements for solutions to meeting business initiatives well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options such as proof of concept, selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
• Clarifies technical requirements and influences decisions that lead to the right solutions.
• Responsible for assisting the team on adapting to the best practices in establishing architectural components, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.
• Provides guidance and supervision for the structured approach to business application solutions and implementation.
• Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
• Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures.
• Directly assists in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture.
• Develops prototypes and solutions.
• Works with Security and Operations team to ensure solution compliance.
• Works with internal and external vendor teams on all support/enhancement/project related activities.
• Develops components and creates packages to be promoted to production environment by Support/Ops teams.
• Provides warranty period, and often post-warranty, production support for applications in area of responsibility.
• Assists and supports the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Supports the Project Manager in pre and post-implementation reviews and incorporating lessons learned into future work and standards.
• Develops or contributes to project deliverables, such as Solution Design Documents.
• Perform incident resolution against established SLAs and ensure proper documentation (SOP) of the solution procedure.
• Comply with and help create/update policies and procedures, including standard operating procedures (SOP).

Education & Experience:
• College or university degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years of Software Engineer/Developer or other similar technology position, which includes hands-on experience with production support, incident response, bug fixes major and minor enhancements
• More than 5 years of retail supply chain domain experience, including experience with Manhattan Associates Distribution Order Management (DOM) or Active Omni, warehouse management, and transportation management systems
• Experience with testing tools and testing methodology
• Experienced in technical design of solution architecture, major and minor enhancements, coding and testing the changes and deploying in production
