Position Overview
The Process Automation Solutions Architect will help to define the vision and design and deliver the technical strategy for Process Automation at Paylocity. This role will work in an interdisciplinary manner with other teams to build and implement an RPA framework, as well as assist with designing and developing automated solutions that leverage the framework and other complementary intelligent automation technologies as needed. This role will deliver automated solutions through design principles that encourage efficiency, quality, reusability, and robustness, and that continue to innovate and deliver value to our business partners.

  • Utilize experience and requirements to help identify, pilot, select, and implement appropriate IA solutions, potentially across multiple technology stacks and integrated solutions
  • Manage full life cycle RPA implementations (process selection, design, build, harden, deploy, scale, and support)
  • Lead architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment and maximize value to business unit partners
  • Help design a scalable RPA framework and architect robust workflows that utilize reusable code.
  • Develop automation solutions focusing on scalability and extensibility
  • Work with other Architects, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers to develop high-level project plans for automation projects
  • Use experiences with past and current technology problems and solutions to drive best practices around automation workflows, design, quality, and performance
  • Partners with IT to ensure that all enterprise and security standards are understood and adhered to in solution design and code deployment
  • Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge across our teams.
  • Research and integrate other intelligent automation technologies into the framework, inclusive of OCR, NLP, AI, and ML?
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies that complement RPA in an intelligent automation framework
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of automations and troubleshoot as needed
  • Design, develop, and implement RPA solutions to streamline processes and maximize efficiency
  • Participate in technical discussions and develop strategies to solve technical challenges
  • Handle highest level support of automated processes and issues as they arise
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and best practices to support automations
  • Collaborate with internal IT team to set up and maintain RPA technical infrastructure
  • Collaborate with customers and team members to identify and evaluate process automation opportunities and support requirements gathering
  • Observe operational processes and recommend automated solutions that will increase efficiency, revenue, and/or reduce errors
  • Handle complex problems independently and act as a subject-matter expert
  • Mentor new employees lower-level developers while efficiently maintaining workload
  • Other duties as assigned

Education And Experience
State the minimum education, experience, skills, and certifications/training required to successfully perform the job.
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience required; Masters preferred
  • 3+ years programming experience with C# or Java
  • 5+ years of experience using RPA technology (Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere or similar automation tool) to design, build, deploy, and maintain automations required
  • 3+ years experience with database integrations utilizing SQL?
  • 3+ years developing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions to a robust production environment
  • Must display solid understanding of unit test and QA technologies as well as knowledge of Testing/QA processes and methodologies
  • Experience with Process Analysis, Design, and Implementation, Business and Technical requirements, Problem-Solving, and System(s) Testing, including UAT and Bug fixes required
  • Experience with other IA technologies (OCR/IDP, NLP/NLG, AI/ML) strongly preferred
  • Experience with one or more development technology stacks or frameworks (such as Angular, React, Nodejs, Java, Python, etc.) preferred
  • Experience developing custom code that will be utilized in automated solutions
  • Experience delivering and supporting business-critical enterprise-quality coded solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; attention to detail; and ability to coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Experience developing in an agile (scrum) environment

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $100,000-140,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
