About the Team

We are an experienced group of Solutions Engineers working in support of Roku video and display advertising products. Team members partner with Product, Engineering, Ad Operations and Client Services representatives to solve problems and implement scalable solutions that help grow the Roku ads ecosystem.


About the Role 

We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our team. Reporting into the Senior Manager of Technical Operations, you will work closely with our Ad Operations, Ad Product, Ad Engineering teams, as well as with external partners in support of Roku Interactive Ads and T-Commerce initiatives. Your primary objective is to remove roadblocks and assist in implementations with third party systems, eventually establishing best practices for onboarding and managing high performing T-Commerce campaigns.  

For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $88,000 and $169,000 annually.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.


What You'll Be Doing 

  • Be the subject matter expert for Roku Interactive Ads and T-Commerce products. Leverage comprehensive product knowledge to provide world-class support for internal/external stakeholders. Ensure high quality of service and quick resolution for all production problems
  • Work with Product Managers, Engineering and Ad Operations to operationalize new ad products and ensure they are ready for the market
  • Define the technical onboarding process for new vendors and ad products. Collaborate across teams to roll out new products and features while defining operational and reporting workflows
  • Own and maintain end-to-end documentation for ad products, providing details on technical implementations, campaign setups and best practices for troubleshooting and reporting
  • Build and manage test campaigns, working closely with Product and Engineering teams to monitor campaign activity, optimize delivery and provide updates on performance
  • Provide escalation support for new and existing ad products. Own a support queue and field technical requests from both external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Work with Senior Engineers on the Ad Platform team to define the next generation architecture for applications, supporting Roku technical and non-technical stakeholders. Identify gaps in the existing system and propose alternatives that are scalable, robust and easy to maintain
  • Advocate for new tools and business practices to improve the T-Commerce experience over time
  • Understanding all things “Ad Tech” including having the ability to compare Direct and Programmatic pipelines/channels. Be able to document and present your vision, concepts, and strategies clearly and succinctly. Develop working understanding of Roku advertising stack, with emphasis on video and display ads monetization 


We're Excited If You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or in product support roles, specifically in the areas of performance advertising and Ad Operations
  • Knowledge of the performance advertising landscape, specifically with ad servers, DSPs, DMPs, ad networks, ad platforms, etc.  
  • Familiarity with common mobile and web measurement technologies and methodologies including (PII, identifiers, DMPs, clean rooms, pixels/cookies, deep linking, push notifications and more) 
  • SQL-based querying and database navigation experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker/Tableau) is strongly preferred
  • Strong critical-thinking, analytical, logical, and results-oriented skillset with a focus on data analysis, reconciliation, and transformation
  • Highly proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, chart-making, and manipulation of large data sets
  • Analytical mindset, project management-oriented, deadline-driven, and process-oriented with a solutions-oriented composition
  • Familiarity with third party CRMs and analytics systems
  • Experience working with engineering to triage and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering/Computer Science)
