As part of Tomorrow.io's go to market team (GTM), the Solutions Engineering (SE) Team makes it possible for weather-sensitive industries like disaster management, agriculture, met agencies, technology and on on-demand, construction, aviation, energy, and mining to operate more efficiently and answer the needs of their customers and constituents to keep people and assets out of harm's way.Â
We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our global team. Our SEs fill a dynamic and essential client-facing role, interacting collaboratively with prospective clients and Tomorrow.io sales representatives, product managers, and R&D team to deliver outstanding results and great value. Dedicated to our customers' success and satisfaction, the SEs are responsible for designing the right solutions for business and government problems and proving those solutions through demos and proof of concepts. The Role requires highly-effective organization and people skills coupled with robust multi-tasking capabilities. The SE is a critical member of the customer-facing team and the position is one which brings with it an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within a lively and challenging environment. This role will support global business operations and will require occasional participation in meetings beyond regular working hours.
What you'll do:
- Demonstrate Tomorrow.io value to prospective customers in global governments, by understanding their business and Tomorrow.io solutions
- Own the problem discovery and solution design process, including the design of demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements
- Advocate customer needs/issues cross-departmentally with Product and R&D addressing technical challenges and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Be an expert on Tomorrow.io capabilities, current and future, and work side-by-side with the Sales and Business Development teams to articulate the business value of these capabilitiesÂ
- Create detailed technical documentation, including guidelines, proposals and tenders when required for accounts
- Willingness to travel occasionally domestically and internationally for customer visits, conferences or industry eventsÂ
What you bring:
- 3+ years experience in a client facing role
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field
- Experience in the Saas/technology industry (experience working with meteorology SaaS is a plus)
- Understanding of APIs interaction with web-based services such as QGISÂ
- Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java or Javascript
- Understanding of remote sensing capabilities and their impact on weather modeling
- Experience applying weather and/or geospatial data and modeling expertise to solve business problems
- Experience with international governments or met agencies is a plus
- Spanish fluency, verbally and written, is highly preferred (Portuguese or French is a plus)
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
- Great attention to detail, effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Fast learner who can understand and articulate technology at any level
- Experience working with global teams a plus
Tomorrow.io Solutions Engineers play a crucial role in our sales cycle by both designing the solutions and guiding customers to realize the business value. You will constantly be collaborating with account executives, business development representatives, customer success representatives, product managers and research scientists.
