Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Solutions Engineer to join our growing Product organization! You’ll be part of our Xplor Pay vertical and the team that is responsible for consulting with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and other software-focused partners on Xplor’s technical capabilities and how we can meet and exceed their payment processing requirements to ensure their success. Consultation will span varying point-of-sale, ecommerce, mobile, in-app, recurring billing, e-invoicing, and auto-reconciliation products and services made available to businesses through our Integrated Payments partnerships. 

In this role, you will work closely with business leaders, architects, engineers, developers, and a broad set of internal teams to support and drive our Integrated Payments partnership strategy, helping our partners leverage multiple client-facing platforms used for merchant onboarding, transaction processing, account maintenance and reporting. You will also help guide the company’s Integrated Payments product strategy and short- and long-term strategic plans which focus on ISVs, payment facilitators, and other SaaS and technology providers that seek to integrate our commerce functionality into their own applications. 

To thrive as Solutions Engineer, you will need to take ownership of discovery processes gathering customer requirements, developing a deep understanding of pain points, and designing solutions to meet those needs that can then be translated to the partners’ development teams for execution and delivery. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the payment ecosystem, ISVs, payment facilitation, and payment technology integration. Our Solutions Engineers work with technical teams as a critical conduit in conveying business objectives, vision and expected outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will: 

  • Become a recognized subject matter expert on the functions, uses and technical documentation and specifications of our platforms that span merchant boarding, transaction processing, account maintenance and reporting.
  • Perform technical product demonstrations and provide technical guidance to stakeholders including creation of proofs of concept when appropriate.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and consult with stakeholders and partners to identify and document pertinent business needs and requirements, crafting and proofing integration solutions that meet the customers’ needs.
  • Collaborate with team members and sales and servicing peers by bringing significant technical and engineering experience to the sales and delivery process ensuring optimization of solutions.
  • Create supporting materials and artifacts such as Payment Processing Designs to effectively communicate business objectives and requirements, and the intended feature/functionality of the final product.
  • Partner with Integrations, Product and Development organizations to help bridge technology needs and enhancements by analyzing and providing continuous recommendations on business solution designs and platform strategies serving as a key technical liaison between stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members and Sales & Services peers by bringing technical and engineering experience to the sales and delivery process ensuring optimal solutions.
  • Provide technical support to the sales teams by creating high quality presentations and timely response to requests for information, helping craft sales strategies when needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in solution engineering or a sales-focused, integration-related role.
  • Experience in financial services, merchant acquiring or related fintech industries is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success supporting technical sales strategies, designing, documenting, or launching successful integrated solutions and related capabilities and products.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with solid sales acumen and ability to interact with and understand technical subjects and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating passion for our vision and the business problems we solve for clients.
  • Talent to build and maintain relationships, interface directly and effectively with customers, negotiate with and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Solid critical-thinking and creative problem-solving skills with exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Tactful and calm under pressure, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, accepts responsibility for actions and follows through on commitments.
  • Accountable, dependable, responsive, and self-motivated.
