Solutions Engineer II

Job Description:
The individual in this role is responsible for defining the engineering approach within an end-to-end technology stack. This role will align to a technical domain but acts as contributor to multiple cross functional teams. This role will be engaged in development and production environments to identify and improve performance/capacity issues within and across technology stacks on an end-to-end basis. Key responsibilities of this role include creating and ensuring system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards. This individual will provide and contribute to improvements in solution design, testing and delivery practices.
Typically requires 10+ years of applicable experience. Former Bank contractor a plus.
Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams to understand technical solutions and to provide the performance capabilities required in the application across the technology stack put forward by Solution Engineer Lead.
• Produce detailed designs of infrastructure and application architecture components.
• Participate in solution driven discussions, contribute to the design of large or highly complex architectural designs, and find creative solutions through their knowledge of the domain and operational constraints.
• Ensure that execution aligns with product strategy by working with product management, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in solution driven discussions, contribute to the design of large or highly complex architectural designs, and find creative solutions using knowledge of the domain and operational constraints.
• Contribute to the technology strategy for their technical domain.
• Mentor and guide more junior Engineers ensuring system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards.
• Participate in various Communities of Practice (COPs) within the organization.

Required Skills & Experience
Familiarity and infrastructure design experience with:

• Oracle DBs
• MSSQL
• Apache
• Weblogic
• Tomcat
• Load Balancing

Strong experience with recent version of Linux and Windows Server.
Strong experience with VMware infrastructure
Ability to use Microsoft Office and Visio
Experience interpreting performance data to inform infrastructure design.
Ability to communicate complex concepts to an audience of varying technical knowledge.
Desired Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of Big Data specifically Hadoop.
• Familiar with DMZ architecture, firewalls, etc
• Knowledge of Containers or Openshift
• Familiar with Messaging, MQ Kafka etc.
• Familiar with Data transmission technology's
• Knowledge of Devops, Ansible, Jira
