Solutions Sales Engineer
Job Description
As the Solutions Sales Engineer you are responsible to prepare detailed technical documentation and architecture solutions to support increasing the success rate of winning a variety of new Space Systems opportunities. This includes being intimately familiar with the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process for developing compelling technical volume materials in response to Requests for Proposals. You will support customer engagements to include providing technical expertise, performing hardware/software demonstrations, supporting teaming activities, providing technical writing/presentations, and developing mature technical baselines that provide discriminating technical solutions to customers. You will develop clear value propositions with the team and articulate that with customers. The role includes leading technical proposal volumes and oral demonstrations, conducting technology trades that are aligned to customer needs, and building compelling visuals and demonstration materials to win new business.Â
Pre-Requisites- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances
- Must have past experience working on Government proposalsÂ
- 5+ years experience working a variety of Government Request for Proposals (RFPs) supporting and leading the technical solution for the acquisition
- 5+ years experience in a technical field to include solutions architecting that align with customer acquisition requirementsÂ
- Deep experience writing and leading the construction of compelling technical volumes to support RFP responses.Â
- Understands how to build a mature and discriminating technical solution that aligns closely with Government needs.Â
- High comfort in forming trusted relationships with potential new customers and helping shape new business opportunities with passionate technology demonstrations and discussions
- 5+ years experience going through the capture lifecycle process from the discovery phase to developing a compelling technical baseline to delivering a mature technical response that receives high marks from the Government.Â
- Possesses strong technical presentation and writing skills to author compelling technical write ups, graphics and presentations that increase companies ability to win new business Â
- 5+ years experience working closely with Business Development and Capture Managers to support technical responses to new business opportunitiesÂ
- Strong soft skills including active listening, assertiveness, strong presentation skills, and experienced technical writer
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex issues clearly
- Has worked and lead for over 10+ years on a variety technical responses to Government Requests for ProposalsÂ
- Supported over $20 million in new business awards by leading technical proposal responses.Â
- High comfort in generating detailed and accurate pricing estimates and demonstrating familiarity with providing technical inputs into pricing models.Â
- Has led both written and oral technical responses for Government Requests for Proposals.Â
- Understands how to evaluate the competitive landscape of potential bidders on a new business opportunity as well as formulating a well-thought strategy for beating a pool of competitors.Â
