This position will provide day-to-day end-user support for applications / processes centrally managed / administered by Shared Services Support (Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials, Maximo and Third-Party applications) across all subsidiaries of the Southern Company. This analyst will provide day to day functional testing and integration support for a defined list of assigned applications / processes including but not limited to Maximo, Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials, Power Plant, and Third-Party applications. The individual will specialize in Procure to Pay processing, Inventory Costing, the Financials process, and will need strong interpersonal skills to support Key Business Partners. In addition, they will collaborate with SSS support resources and the Technology Organization, as they provide technical and infrastructure support for the aforementioned applications and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement and Payables. The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment and actively participate as a member of a high-performance Agile SCRUM team

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Job Experience and Education

  • Bachelors or Graduate degree preferred in Business, Computer Science, IT, Accounting or related discipline is required
  • Minimum of (4) years of hands-on Oracle Functional support
  • Proficient in Oracle Financials Cloud in the following modules (AP, PO, EXP, Tax, SLA) as well as experience with Month End Closing and Period End Reporting
  • Carries a "can do" attitude with a high level of energy and enthusiasm to help others
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment and outstanding customer service
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in providing end-user support to multiple user groups
  • Demonstrate strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proven working knowledge and understanding of processes and procedures related to Accounts Payable / Supply Chain Management / Supplier Maintenance / Compliance & Controls
  • A proven individual work ethic and team effectiveness
  • Previous experience serving in an application support role is required.
  • Previous experience in the performance of technology production processes including, functional testing and interface support for Shared Services supported applications including Maximo, Oracle, Power Plant and/or other Third-Party applications is required
  • Oracle Data Relationship Manager and Data Relationship Governance a plus but is not required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Maximo and Oracle to perform application functional testing is required.
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to document and review requirements is required.
  • Familiarity with Accounting Finance and Treasury financial application systems and processes is required
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies is required.
  • Provide effective analysis and support to end-users; respond to end-user cases accurately and in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with other Enterprise Solutions application business processes is desired.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Application Support and Troubleshooting

  • Effectively liaising between end-users, other SSS support resources and Technology Organization for application support, prioritizing issues, patches, upgrades and enhancements
  • Responsible for working with SSS Key Business Partners in the implementation of changes to SSS supported processes and procedures / code changes, including testing and remediation of issues
  • Researching / Troubleshooting issues that are impacting key processes and procedures across the Enterprise supported applications
  • Developing, reviewing, and approving application test scripts due to new functionality or current functionality changes.
  • Serving as an Oracle Financials application(s) Subject Matter Expert and as a key partner with the TO Center of Excellence organization for Enterprise Solutions application changes.
  • Ensuring all integration issues for ES applications are managed and resolved timely.

  • Project work for new applications, new functionality, and enhancements.
