What you will do
Under direction from the Director Supplier Strategy and Risk of Clarios, this business leader will manage a set of key relationships with critical enterprise-level suppliers; develop new suppliers in select growth areas to support strategic goals, mitigate risk and leverage these key supplier relationships to improve the overall cost and competitive position of the business.
This leader should have a strong capability to manage complex business relationships that support Clarios' business evolution. The manager will need to analyze and leverage an array of technical, market, and financial data to drive improvement in these key supplier account relationships, negotiate favorable commercial and financial terms, ensure accountability to supplier performance through high level business reviews, and develop achievable strategic solutions to complex business challenges. The professional must also be able to work effectively across multiple Clarios functions and regions to ensure we are maximizing the value of the supplier relationships, mitigating risks, and pursuing opportunities for growth.
How you will do it
- Directly manage key supplier relationships at the enterprise level to drive production assurance, maintain best cost, raise quality, improve production throughput, leverage inventory positions, monitor contract adherence, and explore growth opportunities
- Work in collaboration with global and regional Engineering, Procurement, EH&S, Operations, Quality, Finance, Legal/ERM, IT, Program Management, Supply Chain and other Clarios functions to capture business requirements and ensure key suppliers are meeting those requirements, driving appropriate change, and anticipating Clarios changing needs
- Interface with Strategy and Global Supply Chain to understand short-, mid- and long-term demand curves to develop near and long term action plans
- Drive negotiation and restructuring of key enterprise-level agreements working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders within the business
- Support development of supply strategies in relation to product lifecycle, operational excellence, and corporate vision
- Ensure enterprise level business continuity and crisis management preparedness with key suppliers
- Translate the Clarios Sustainability Blueprint into key account relationships
What we look for
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement, and/or Supply Chain Management
- Ability and experience managing supplier relationships while effectively balancing supply assurance, cost, quality, and performance factors
- Experience navigating and negotiating commercial agreements
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Diverse portfolio of experience related to supply chain, operations, logistics, quality, or procurement, including direct materials, indirect spend and capital expenses.
- Customer focus oriented, results driven with excellent project and time management skills
- Ability to adjust communication style and substance for various cultural and hierarchical audiences
- Highly proficient technical skills in MS Office Suite
- A demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement
- Ability to influence up, down and across the organization
- Ability to travel up to 20% (includes domestic and global travel)
