Sourcing Associate, Fabric
Job Description
SUMMARY
The Associate Sourcing Specialist executes long and short term sourcing strategies within their departments. The Associate Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the management of both agent and supplier relationships to ensure: 1) execution of proprietary designs, 2) consistent product quality, 3) on-time delivery, 4) maximized profitability and 5) minimized risk.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
• Manages sourcing roadmaps, capacity plans, supplier matrices, late shipments reporting, sample tracking, supplier/factory set up, cost savings reports and macroeconomic trackers. 25%
• Responsible for driving daily communication with cross functional and external partners for procuring information and providing on-going updates for time and action management, production tracking, quality and testing issues, late shipments, cost comparisons etc. 20%
• Troubleshoots and drives resolution on development, production, quality and other related issues that effect on time delivery. 20%
• Analyzes data to develop supplier tiering and rationalization, cost engineering, country of origin diversification, and capacity planning. 15%
• Responsible for extracting and evaluating data from internal systems to support reports such as dashboard, supplier scorecard, commission rates, supplier type diversification, country of origin diversification, etc. 10%
• Analyzes and provides reports on sourcing metrics in terms of progress on sourcing goals, supplier performance, macroeconomic factors and their potential impact on the business. 10%
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Understanding of macro-economic pressures and variables that influence global sourcing decisions.
• Knowledge of global testing and safety laws.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environments and multiple time zones.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Minimum: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree
Experience Minimum: 6+ years Merchandising, Product Development, Global Sourcing or related field.
Experience Preferred: + years in Merchandising, Product Development or Global Sourcing. International travel or experience desirable.
