Position at SBM Management
The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading the efforts in sourcing of goods and/or services for the organization with added emphasis on specialty and one-time purchase items.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, pursue, and implement continual cost saving initiatives
- Track trends and provide quantified results
- Manage relationships with all suppliers
- Lead and seek consensus from internal customers
- Develop suppliers to support changing company needs and new initiatives
- Identify and implement best practices for purchasing of all products and supplies with emphasis on domestic consolidation
- Maintain and consistently improve a standardized purchasing program
- Provide leadership and promote best practices internally and externally
- Work with finance and accounting in tracking spends and savings potential domestically
- Seek out and promote best products and obtain consensus from internal customers
- Treat vendors with respect and promote best values of our organization
- Provide concise reports for senior and executive management
- Coordinate and manage the maintenance of records related to suppliers
Education and/ or Experience
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university, preferably in management, purchasing or accounting, in addition to five years experience with increasing responsibility in purchasing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
May be required to have a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook required; Access preferred) software skills
Compensation: $90,000-$95,000 per year
