As a Sourcing Manager you will strategically manage supplier activities for designated operational areas in accordance with business and fiscal guidelines for quality, cost and availability to meet overall Company objectives. Lead the effective execution of strategic and tactical plan initiatives for the Sourcing organization to include but not limited to contract adherence and supplier development, supplier management and performance. As a team leader, lead operational sourcing and supplier management activities with assigned factories.

What Will You Do?

  • Drive the execution of the defined category strategy on a divisional level, working closely with the Manager, Sourcing - Direct Materials and local planning team.
  • Lead the effective implementation of strategic and tactical plan initiatives for the Sourcing organization.
  • Provide divisional-level vendor performance feedback for supplier scorecard.
  • Accountable for driving the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvement.
  • Consolidate sourcing strategies and ensure consistency across facilities.
  • Ensure products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner for assigned areas of responsibility to support production.
  • Track errors linked to sourcing and manage problem solving with global vendors.
  • Manage expertise transfer on sourcing operations across facilities via coaching.
  • Ensure team has tools, skill sets, processes, and training to accomplish goals.
  • Manage item and vendor coherence between sites/ manufacturing plants.
  • Ensure procurement KPIs, performance management and process adherence.
  • Analyze demand by facility, anticipate changes, and drive subsequent procurement activities.
  • Identify and launch procurement projects and initiatives to improve process improvements, analyze effectiveness, and drive results and compliance.
  • Manage and provide improvement guidance to sourcing organization.
  • Manage policy and processes for parts/purchased materials master files.
  • Provides direction, coaching, counseling to direct reports.
  • Keep well-informed of external factors that may affect the supply chain.
  • All other tasks and projects as assigned.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA desired, CPIM, ISM, NAPM, CPSM or APICS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in sourcing
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in supervising (with sourcing professionals preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including interpersonal relationship building, team facilitation, coaching and mentoring, performance management, and ability to provide both positive and constructive feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly and concisely communicate information at multiple levels and capable of effective executive management presentations / communications.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced contracting and negotiations skills - win/win approach, strategy and tactic development, knowledge of contracting principles, laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Exhibit a professional, self-confident image.
  • Possess a strong technical background, demonstrating a base level of mechanical understanding; ability to understand physical parts and components based on verbal descriptions or mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mathematics and numeric analysis skills
  • Possess effective supplier negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of total time, with ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Demonstrate excellent communications skills via in-person, by e-mail, in writing and via phone conversation)
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as with ERP planning systems; experience working with and understanding technical specifications, as well as varied background in commodity areas (castings, stampings, mechanical and electronic components, etc.) Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in Supply Chain Management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills- able to construct/execute multiple complex analyses simultaneously.
  • Quick study-able to gain a fact-based understanding of current supplier base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets.
  • Passion for reducing costs-exhibits high energy and the enthusiasm to establish a new approach to sourcing.
  • Comfortable with conflict-willingness to challenge "conventional" thinking.
  • Self-starter and independent worker-able to juggle priorities.
  • Able to aggressively take the lead on implementation of savings opportunities that affect assigned AOR.
