This Sourcing Program Manager will be an impactful sourcing team contributor responsible for integration and sourcing program related activities. Working with sourcing team members, project teams, suppliers, and engineering to provide project support and determine cost and quality improvements. They will serve as a liaison for cross-functional participation, and lead efforts within a project to meet launch dates, project target costing, and manage supplier / part RFQ's for each project assigned.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Initiate total cost reduction, process improvement projects, and lead cross-functional teams (including supplier representatives) in their implementation
  • Integrate acquisition synergy strategies by managing projects that include mass re-quoting, re-qualifying, and/or re-sourcing of purchased components
  • Create and maintain comprehensive integration project documentation
  • Communicate on a continuous basis with internal customers to understand business objectives, expectations, and specific requirements
  • Lead sourcing negotiations with all levels of supplier contacts to establish terms of contracts, material agreements, and schedule agreements (lead time, payment terms, etc.)
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the seamless execution of projects
  • Support the identification of cost savings opportunities that include volume discounts, best contract, disintermediation opportunities, and growth strategies
  • Manage scope by coordinating and responding to requests for changes from original specifications
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market conditions, trends, sources of supply and supplier capabilities for materials, equipment, and services
  • Provide work direction to teammates as needed in alignment with the projects
  • Prepare communications for management, business units and others, including project status reports, project time / budget reports, and other project-related documents
  • Participate in project presentations or project status reviews to senior management
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle
  • Issue POs, and complete special tasks, assignments, and projects as assigned

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering, business, accounting, manufacturing, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of supply chain experience
  • PMP or equivalent certification a plus
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a development environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications in English
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and strong interpersonal, facilitation, and team leadership skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and research skills
  • High level of desktop software PC skills and understanding of ERP systems such as SAP
  • Familiarity in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
