Sourcing Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

Husco provides an opportunity to pursue a career in Purchasing as a Sourcing Specialist. Key responsibilities will include quoting and negotiating pricing for production components and tooling, making supplier selections, and following through on all purchases throughout the new product development process.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

• Quote new components and negotiate best commercial terms for production components and tooling: Distribute RFQ packages to existing and new suppliers to support new product development business growth. Negotiate best tooling pricing, piece pricing, and terms. Create and track purchase orders to suppliers for production tooling and pre-production components.
• Quote and negotiate price for prototype components and tooling: Work closely with the global prototype supply base in quoting components for new product development / engineering prototypes. Negotiate best pricing and lead times. Create and track purchase orders to suppliers. Monitor and expedite these purchases as required.
• Create direct materials cost models: Evaluate and compare quotes, assist with pre-sourcing supplier decisions to complete the cost models.
• Manage supplier relationships for the prototype and production supply base: Balance the needs and performance expectations of Husco Automotive Purchasing and Engineering. Serve as liaison between the suppliers and engineering to ensure successful results.
• Strong team player and contributor: Able to work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced atmosphere. Combine strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution.
• Support departmental and organizational goals and objectives: Support leadership through Continuous Improvement projects or other assigned tasks and projects aimed to achieve goals and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Proficient with all applications of Microsoft office.
• Strong organizational skills required with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• In a standard workday, this person will be required to sit 80%, stand or walk 20%, and drive/travel.
• Repetitive use of the hands as to fine manipulation/dexterity will be required for use of inspection and calibration instruments, data/dexterity will be required for use of inspection and calibration instruments, data input, writing, manipulation of "mouse" and phone dialing. Phone duties require clear and audible speech.
• Visual requirements include excellent number and depth perception, strong reading abilities, ability to read computer printouts and computer spreadsheet applications.
• This person may come in contact with all types of office or shop hazards: temperature, occasional contact with chemicals, fumes, etc.
