We are looking for an elite-level Sous Chef to join our team—someone who is not just technically proficient but also highly motivated, organized, and driven to excel in a demanding kitchen. Compensation: • $25 – $30 per hour (based on experience and skill level) • 10 hours of overtime per week • Competitive pay with opportunities to make great money Position Overview: The Sous Chef is a critical leadership position, directly supporting the Executive Chef and ensuring smooth, efficient kitchen operations. This role requires an exceptionally skilled cook who thrives under pressure, maintains high standards of cleanliness, and is eager to grow in their career. The ideal candidate is organized, hardworking, and adaptable, with a relentless focus on quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Culinary Execution & Precision • Execute dishes with technical mastery in a high-volume environment. • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards across all menu items. • Work the line efficiently under extreme pressure while ensuring speed and accuracy. • Handle fine meats, cheeses, and bread with expert technique. • Operational Efficiency & Leadership • Assist in managing kitchen flow and ensuring all stations are fully prepped and stocked. • Delegate and oversee kitchen tasks, ensuring a smooth and productive service. • Train, mentor, and support line cooks and prep staff. • Uphold kitchen organization, ensuring all food prep areas remain immaculate and efficient. • Cleaning, Stocking & Organization • Maintain immaculate cleaning and sanitation practices at all times. • Ensure food safety standards are met, with proper handling of all ingredients. • Oversee and execute daily stocking, mise en place, and preparation for high-volume service. • Handle and maintain kitchen tools, knives, and equipment properly. • Professionalism & Work Ethic • Exhibit a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a drive to succeed. • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and advancement in the industry. • Work as a team player, showing respect and collaboration with both back- and front-of-house staff. • Be highly adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities when necessary. Qualifications & Skills: • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume, scratch kitchen. • Extremely strong cooking ability—must be a highly proficient, technically skilled chef. • Ability to handle pressure and maintain composure during high-volume service. • Strong knife skills and proficiency in butchering, fine cheese handling, and bread preparation. • Exceptional cleanliness and organizational skills—clean as you go mentality. • Ability to multitask, work with speed and accuracy, and execute consistently. • Passion for cooking and a desire to grow professionally. • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
