About Us:
Marisi Italiano, a modern Italian hearth cooking restaurant in the heart of La Jolla. Designed to feel like a masseria, which is an Italian coastal farmhouse villa. Our food takes inspiration from traditional Italian food. Pastas are classic and handmade with some modern takes, wood-fired hearth cooking will have plenty of grilled seafood, meats, and vegetable dishes. The menu will change with the seasons and ingredients will be the very best we can procure.
About You:
We are looking for a sous chef. This role is right for you if:
You enjoy leading by example, working hard, and honing your cooking skills & techniques. Youβre eager to learn, able to hold high standards, take direction well, and can help create a kitchen culture that is both fun & professional. You should have a problem-solving attitude and inspire cooks to push to be and get better.
Requirements:
β’ 4+ years experience in a high-end restaurant
β’ 1-year minimum management experience.
β’ Knowledge or strong interest in hand-made pasta.
β’ Experience or strong interest in, cooking over wood fire.
β’ Ensure cooks adhere to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
β’ Time management skills and strong leadership qualities.
β’ Flexible hours - will include weekends & maybe some holidays
β’ Attention to detail.
β’ Passion for fresh, local, seasonal, and quality ingredients.
β’ Eager to learn & grow as a chef
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
