Job Description

Job Summary The ideal candidate will make and create Japanese sandwiches (sandos) in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and service. This position requires strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Duties • Make and Create Japanese Sandwiches. • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creative and seasonal offerings. • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation. • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and control to ensure proper stock levels. • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment. • Coordinate banquet and catering services as needed, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals. • Manage shift operations, delegating tasks effectively to ensure smooth workflow during busy periods. • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. • Monitor food production processes to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality. • Participate in hiring and training new kitchen staff members as necessary. Experience • Bakery and Japanese Sandwiches • Strong background in food production, menu planning, and kitchen management. • Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing team dynamics effectively. • Familiarity with inventory control systems and food handling procedures. • Knowledge of dietary department practices is a plus. • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred. • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team. • Strong understanding of food safety standards and best practices within the food industry. • Previous experience in catering or banquet services is advantageous.
