Job Description

General Summary: As a Sous Chef in our luxury rehab center, your role is pivotal in preparing high-quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our clients. You will work under the guidance of our Executive Chef to not only maintain daily meal service but also to plan and execute food preparations for special events, ensuring our standards of luxury and nutritional care are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Menu Planning and Preparation:Follow the designated menu plans to ensure each meal is nutritious, well-balanced, and appealing. Timely preparation is essential. • Kitchen Organization:Efficiently organize groceries, ensuring everything is stored neatly and orderly. This includes maintaining a clean refrigerator and properly disposing of leftovers. • Inventory Management:Keep an accurate inventory of non-perishable items, including hygiene and paper products, to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked at all times. • Sanitation and Cleanliness:Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health codes. This includes dishwashing and general kitchen maintenance. • Allergy Awareness:Keep an updated list of clients with food allergies and ensure their needs are met safely and respectfully. • Training and Development:Participate in annual training sessions to stay up-to-date with culinary techniques, sanitation practices, and nutrition knowledge. • Ad hoc Tasks:Be prepared to take on additional duties as required to support the kitchen's smooth operation. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Comprehensive understanding of company policies and procedures. • Proficient in proper cooking techniques and food presentation. • Familiar with health codes, sanitation standards, and basic nutrition. • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work effectively. • Strong skills in preparing a wide variety of foods. Education and Experience: • A minimum of three years of experience in cooking is required. • Current SafeServ certification is mandatory. • A professional culinary arts training is highly preferred. Schedule: • The position operates on a Wednesday through Sunday schedule, 7:30am - 5:00pm.
