The Space Systems Architect Division works with elements across the Space Systems Integration Office and SSC Chief Information Office to provide cross-program integration, engineering, and architecting support for Space Systems Command and the United States Space Force. The Cyber Architectures & Integration team is passionate about cyberspace, including cybersecurity, program protection, cryptography, key management, data governance & architecting; information technology, software, and resilient design for space systems.
Work Model: Telework of up to 2 day a week is possible depending on the needs of the customer.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Applying zero trust and cybersecurity principles to network and system designs
  • Architecting and engineering the design of future wide area data transport concepts for space systems
  • Securely integrating DoD systems with future data transport projects
  • Communicating and coordinating progress on projects across the breadth of the space community including the US Space Force, other DoD organizations and Intelligence Community agencies
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with government, Aerospace, other FFRDC and contractor support personnel

What You Need to Be Successful - Project Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited technical program in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, cybersecurity or other applicable degree
  • Six years of relevant professional experience in scientific or engineering positions
  • Experience with secure wide area networks and applicable protocols (software defined networks, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, etc)
  • Understanding and experience with DoD Cybersecurity policies and implementation for computer networks
  • Willing to travel periodically, as needed
  • Current SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

What You Need to Be Successful - Senior Project Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited technical program in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, information assurance or other applicable degree
  • Ten years of relevant professional experience in scientific or engineering positions
  • Significant technical leadership experience in customer-facing engineering and technical roles
  • Experience in designing or implementing secure wide area networks, applicable protocols, and operational approaches (software defined networks, Network-as-a-Service, SD-WAN, Lifecycle Service Orchestration, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, etc)
  • Understanding and experience with DoD Cybersecurity policies and implementation for computer networks
  • Willing to travel periodically, as needed
  • Current SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Work in designing and integrating wide-area network solutions for large systems
  • Tier-1 Internet or Cloud Service Provider experience
  • Track record in space-to-space and space-to-ground wireless technologies and topologies.
  • Space acquisition policies and processes
  • Experience with diverse space systems and missions
  • Digital engineering, MBSE/MBEA, or enterprise-level architecture processes and tools
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and experience working with cloud-native applications and access points
  • Strategizing, designing, and operating a network simulation environment.
  • Current TOP SECRET / SCI clearance with accesses or eligibility for SAP

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$103,000 - $150,900 - $205,700
