The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the sophisticated application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED uses an incredibly broad array of engineering and business subject areas to support a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.
In this MTS Retiree Casual R4 role, you will provide technical mentorship and deep subject matter expertise in the area of satellite architecture modeling and simulation. You'll help to grow our capabilities to assess new space missions and position the corporation to respond to emerging customer needs in this area.
What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead projects and provide technical advice for space and ground architecture modeling and simulation analysis using results to support recommendations for customer acquisition decisions
• Lead and mentor subdivision analysts on effective engagement with customers, teamwork, collaboration, analysis techniques, data analytics and visualization, and standard methodologies
• Optimize and assess the performance of space and supporting ground and communications architectures by using existing or custom-developed analysis tools
• Act as an authoritative technical resource for subdivision and division level leadership
• Provide expert advice on customer space architectures, including related ground systems and supporting technologies, in these specific national security space functional areas: geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, space protection, or communications infrastructure supporting intelligence capabilities

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:

• BS Degree in aerospace engineering, operations research or related field of science or engineering
• Substantial proven experience or background in architecture performance analysis and modeling, communications systems analysis, electronics systems analysis, imagery systems analysis, space protection analysis, space surveillance analysis, and software and/or simulation development
• Expertise in the BLINE and CASA modeling and simulation software capabilities
• Direct experience building working relationships with customer senior leadership and extensive knowledge of customer business/mission portfolios
• Familiarity with orbital mechanics, dynamics, and mathematics related to space system analysis
• Prior hands-on experience in system analysis and simulation
• Experience in the use and maintenance of PC or UNIX platforms, and associated software
• Proven history of personal accountability, adaptation to changing customer requirements, and ability to learn and self-correct
• Current SSBI required

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

• Graduate Degree in aerospace engineering, operations research or related field of science or engineering
• Direct experience with and understanding of Aerospace customers and business
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Aerospace corporate policies, practices, and organizational structure
• Prior experience working in an engineering matrix that supports program office and customer senior leadership
• Prior experience leading teams of multi-functional studies and analysis teams coordinating sophisticated technical tasks among expert team members, and translating customer needs into viable instructions for analysts required

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
