Our team is currently seeking a Spacecraft Communications Engineer to support the Systems Engineering and Advanced Services (SEAS) program at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. The Communications Engineer will model the spacecraft and the space environment to formulate an understanding of the operations and challenges of communicating with a space mission.

Our team is currently seeking a Spacecraft Communications Engineer to support the Systems Engineering and Advanced Services (SEAS) program at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. The Communications Engineer will model the spacecraft and the space environment to formulate an understanding of the operations and challenges of communicating with a space mission.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model spacecraft communications systems, ground and space-based communications assets, and the space environment using industry-standard tools.
- Analyze radiofrequency interference (RFI) between a mission and other on-orbit spacecraft.
- Analyze space communications operations concepts and propose changes as part of requirements verification for a variety of orbit regimes and spacecraft bus types.
- Analyze and propose solutions to problems that, if left unresolved, would degrade spacecraft communication system performance.
- Develop, document, and lead the implementation of plans and procedures for a large space operations enterprise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
- BS degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field. (12 years of related experience accepted in lieu of degree.)
- 5 years of related experience required
- TS/SCI clearance.
