Special Event Officer Event Security Post Summary: Event Security Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the attendees, staff, and property during events. They are responsible for maintaining order and acting swiftly in the event of any disturbances or potential threats. Their duties and responsibilities include: • Monitor and control access at entrances. Ensure all guests comply with venue rules andevent access protocols. • Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment • Perform security patrols of designated areas • Identify and respond to security risks or threats promptly and effectively • Manage crowd control and maintain order during the event • Direct traffic and guide pedestrians • Assist event attendees with directions or information • Report any suspicious activities or security breaches • Respond to emergencies as trained andfollow the chain of command. • Maintain open communication via radio or phone with security team and supervisor. • Cooperate with law enforcement authorities when necessary • Ensure compliance with applicable procedures, laws, and regulations • Maintain a detailed record of any incidents that occur during the event • Fireguard Required (F03 and/or F04) ***MUST HAVE HARDCOPY ON PERSON*** Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent (some events may require security certification). • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or crowd management preferred. • Strong observational and problem-solving skills. • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Physically fit to stand, walk, and respond to emergencies for extended periods. • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
