Special Projects Manager
Job Description
The Special Projects Manager at Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will be responsible for managing a variety of duties across the practice, with different objectives for each project. As a project-based role, flexibility and organization are key skills for advancing the goals of each project and staying on-track in a timely and efficient manner. Beyond prescribed projects by Genesis leadership, the Special Projects Manager role will have room to ideate and launch projects of their own initiative, in collaboration with Genesis leadership and in accordance with the goals of the broader Genesis mission. It's ultimately a role that requires a self-starter who can manage several projects at once, without sacrificing quality of any one project.
An example set of projects could include:
- Coordinating a fundraising effort for Genesis among the values-aligned impact investment or venture capital community
- Researching and submitting applications to grant programs to supplement funding for the Genesis mission
- Investigating BEP certification and advancing the application for the certification
- Overseeing the Healthcare Administration Leadership Program, by recruiting for upcoming cohorts, managing projects for the existing cohort, and leading weekly reading discussions
- Exploring community involvement and engagement (e.g., free orthopedic clinics in the neighborhoods we operate) alongside partners
- Managing a variety of behind-the-scenes operational projects that assist the CEO
- Supporting the Health Equity Leadership Forum research and development (starting with assisting with the roundtable currently under discussion)
- Writing compelling content for CEO's LinkedIn to shape Genesis' engagement and thought leadership within the larger conversations happening around health equity
- Managing the "New Office Playbook," i.e., the repeating set of activities that occur for each new office opened by Genesis
- Assisting with podcast management, scheduling, research, and distribution to deliver consistent quality interviews with interesting thinkers and practitioners in health equity
