Looking for an excited and highly motivated individual eager to join the SDI - Technology Innovation & Organization Strategy department as a Specialist, Agile Lead. The position is expected to lead an Agile line to optimize value delivered. The ideal candidates should be knowledgeable in multiple Agile methodologies, Lean and DevOps principles. Verbal and written communication skills along with servant leadership, organization, and facilitation with a willingness to learn and grow with the team is expected.

This Agile Lead will serve the Aria Automata line from the Data Analytics & Customer (DAC) organization within SDI having a focus on various customer-centric platforms and applications - Advocacy Case, Clarabridge, Google Analytics, OpinionLab and eProduct Data Loader. This line is a cross-functional team of Technology Analysts and Software Developers and includes on-shore and off-shore team members. Strong relationship building and skills rooted in identifying, implementing, and executing key agile processes and practices is essential in this role.

Preferred candidates will have:
  • Certifications in any of the following is a plus; CSM, PMI Agile Scrum, SAFe Scrum Master
  • Results demonstrating Lean leadership and progressing DevOps journeys

**This role has the flexibility to be 100% remote, however, candidates must be willing to be aligned with EST hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications that are more complex.
  • Analyzes and validates complex system requirements and existing business processes and information systems. Designs, develops and implements new programs and/or modifications of existing applications. Responsible for the more complex designs, prototypes and other methodologies for new and/or existing systems including the development and implementation of test plans and program specifications with various interfaces.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements complex software applications according to standards.
  • Defines and develops specifications and programs sophisticated technical modules, applications, prototypes and computer programs.
  • Assists in leading all aspects of applications programming and development including file design, update, storage and retrieval.
  • Evaluates and provides technical solutions to complex application development problems.
  • Coordinates activities of a project team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs when requested.
  • Act as a technical programming consultant for small-scale projects that include multiple product lines and various interfaces when required.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field is preferred.

Experience: Four years of experience in programming and systems analysis. Project management experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Ability to champion agile delivery over fixed practices, flexibility over rigidity, coaching, empowerment and influence over dictation and automation over manual processes. Confirmed software engineering expertise using Lean, agile and DevSecOps principles. Detailed understanding of agile technology frameworks and software engineering practices. Proven record of optimally leading, empowering and building engaged teams. Experience developing and maintaining strong business partnerships. Effective communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and decision making skills. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Nationwide utilizes a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Colorado is$77,500.00 - $119,000.00

Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Ithaca, New York is$77,500.00 - $160,500.00
