Job Description
The Specialist, College Marketing is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking to take the next step in their career in music marketing while also owning many strategy and administrative tasks related to the program. This individual should be overly organized while also creative and execution focused. This role will assist the Sr. Director & Assoc. Director in providing structure and organization for the SMU team as well as lead several initiatives related to marketing campaigns for our artist teams. This role will work with all Sony Music’s record various labels on creating and executing campaigns dedicated to creating conversations around key moments within the world of a college student. Additionally, this role will ensure seamless communication with the college marketing team to achieve professional growth for our students as well as excellence in our department output.
What you'll do:- Leading campaigns to develop new & unique ideas while also understanding the fundamentals of experiential marketing and activating field marketing techniques.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of 40+ Sony Music U College Marketing Reps to optimize their success and involvement in the SMU program.
- Align with partners in execution of SMU events including label partners, university contacts, vendors, etc.
- Assist in professional development initiatives for the SMU rep team; to include owned events, panels, trainings, and various other activities as identified by SMU Sr. Director.

- Identify and implement opportunities and efficiencies to strengthen the overall SMU department.
- 3+ years of experience with working knowledge in the marketing, event, or entertainment industry
- A deep understanding of social trends and Gen Z insight
- A pro-active communicator with extraordinary time management skills
- A proactive, intuitive, curious, self-starter who has strong problem solving abilities
- Able to build and execute large scale campaigns while also showing strong attention to detail
- An extremely organized professional and be able to create and maintain strong business relationships
- Must have a passionate commitment to music and artists and be available to attend evening showcases/events
- Bachelor’s degree required
