GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Specialist, General Accounting provides accounting support to financial accounting to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values. This includes being accountable for timely and accurate payments on behalf of DaVita Labs, entry-level general ledger accounting, and assistance with financial reporting and account reconciliation. This position reports to the Supervisor, General Accounting(Lab).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

High volume invoice processing in accordance with established accounting control procedures:

• Review, verify, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers;
• Ensure proper approvals based on authority dollar limits;
• Code invoices with correct general ledger code conforming to standard accounting procedures;
• Monitor discount opportunities;
• Adjust and self-assess sales tax according to State of Florida and local county laws when applicable;
• Coordinate and process payment weekly, via check or electronic transfer, to vendors within established vendor terms;
• Ensure W-9s collected before vendor setup.

Perform research and issue resolution of problem invoices; maintain timely communication with DaVita Labs Purchasing team to address any purchase order invoice issues.

Participate in special projects and other accounting functions as required by leader.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 0-2 years experience
• Must have High School Diploma
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL - PREFERRED
• Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Excel and ability to use Microsoft Windows environment - REQUIRED
• High attention to detail and organizational skills - REQUIRED
• Customer service experience - PREFERRED
