The Role

Candidate will join our Global Mainframe Operations team. Will be responsible for monitoring, controlling and operating complex Mainframe systems, networks, applications, Batch management in a Sysplex environment. Provide first-level problem diagnosis and technical support to customers, resolving moderately complex issues/inquiries regarding systems, applications and Identify system operational and performance problems. Ability to utilize MVS and JES2 commands to display and interact with Mainframe hardware/peripherals. The candidate will be a Lead Operations Analyst, involving in troubleshooting, problem solving, Incident handling, actively engaged in priority calls, engage other technology teams when required and bring the issues to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the TSO mainframe computing facilities ensuring high customer availability. Monitor system consoles for unusual conditions, analyze failures, determine root causes, develop and implement actions to fix issues and improve system availability. Co-ordinate with team of system programmers, production control staff and business application teams. Identify system operational and performance problems. Understand and able to diagnose console messages and WTOR's. Provide Disaster Recovery capabilities to support all production system and application needs to ensure the availability of all deliverables associated with the highest quality of service.
  • Participation in Priority calls / adhoc calls and with effective communication and technical skills, driving It towards incident closure with effective troubleshooting skills
  • Identify manual processes and opportunities for automation, reduction on non-actionable alerts and remediation of vulnerabilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • 6 - 8 years of related infrastructure experience required;
  • Knowledge on Mainframe Operating Systems. Strong fundamental knowledge on Mainframe console operations concepts.
  • Knowledge / Work Experience / Operational support Experience in MVS Commands and JES2 Commands. Hands on with Shutdown / IPL procedure and HMC Activities. Knowledge on SYSPLEX environment / Mainframe hardware / CICS, DB2, IMS, VTAM, etc.
  • Experience in participation of priority issues / calls with external / internal clients for troubleshooting issues, problem solving and possessing excellent communications skills.
  • Experience in operations of Service Management tools like Remedy / ServiceNow, Monitoring of real time dashboards for infrastructure, file delivery failures, monitoring and handling incident queue etc

  • GDPS knowledge
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
