IMG Marketing Overview:

As an enabler and accelerator of business across Nationwide Financial, IMG Marketing's partners with other lines of business to serve their customers (retirement plan participants, annuitants, etc.) through investments offered within variable annuity, variable life, retirement plans and corporate-owned life insurance products.
IMG Marketing also serves the needs of institutionally oriented investors (e.g., wirehouses, independent broker dealers, registered investment advisors, etc.) and financial professionals targeted through a dedicated sales team and marketing-driven broad-based outreach and lead generation.
Our investment products include mutual funds, variable investment trusts (VITs), collective investment trusts (CITs) and exchange traded funds (ETFs) spanning multiple asset classes (equities, international, fixed income, asset allocation, target date, etc.) managed by Nationwide as well as outside managers via a sub advised model.
IMG Marketing provides investment product marketing expertise, digital marketing experiences, in-person and virtual events and personalized experiences through journey marketing. As a team, we leverage sophisticated marketing technology, data and analytics to partner with a broad array of expert stakeholders including internal and external agencies, PR, Media, Marketing Ops, Content and Delivery and other lines of business to bring our solutions to market.

Assignment overview:
The primary function of this role is to provide marketing leadership in support of ongoing core product marketing:
- Production and delivery of product marketing materials (such as fact sheets, manager commentaries, investment ideas and more) which are updated on a quarterly basis
- Digital product marketing management including investment products and content on Nationwide's website
- Cross-functional teamwork with representation including Business Information Management, Product Management, IT and Compliance to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and support projects centered on the following:
Collaborate with the IMG marketing team and other key stakeholders (Compliance, Product Management, Business Information Management, etc.) to produce and distribute product marketing materials (fact sheets, pitchbooks, manager commentaries, etc.) on a monthly/quarterly basis. The Specialist will learn applications including a dynamic publishing software, compliance approval/document repository application, Microsoft Office applications, proprietary apps and others as required.
Work with Digital marketing to review all site content and update pages on nationwide.com, nationwidefinancial.com and sub-sections of the sites. This work entails performing ongoing audits of available materials and site content and submitting requests to update or remove as needed. Additionally, this function includes managing required changes related to ongoing product/fund modifications.
Support product lifecycle management initiatives including launching new products, fund changes, and removing or combining funds. In this effort, the Specialist will support implementing materials in our automated product marketing dynamic publishing platform (Synthesis Technologies) to streamline production.
Manage an array of product marketing projects, such as updating materials and websites to reflect new product changes, which involve an array of stakeholders including product management, compliance and digital marketing.
As part of a cross functional team, participate in the development of Nationwide Funds investment promotional content and materials. Manage workflow through the development, approval and distribution processes encompassing external agencies, compliance reviews, websites and materials repositories. Manage time-sensitive updates spanning digital marketing assets, web content, print/electronic materials.
Other duties as assigned. Must be flexible to assume additional duties as required by evolving opportunities and department priorities. This includes the ability to learn and apply information from various business units and partners.
Skills and Competencies:
- Project management - proven ability to set work priorities, balance and organize work in a fast-paced environment. Has the ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Ability to conceptualize and manage large, complex projects and effectively manage projects in a large, matrix management organization
- Process and technology aptitude - proven experience working with desktop applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) as the basis to learn proprietary software skills
- Problem solving - proven ability to identify and structure problems and issues, brainstorm solutions with team, logically present ideas to solve problems
- Communications - excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to articulate messaging, resolve issues, define processes, etc. both orally and in writing
- Editing- able to review materials for grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, as well as checking for consistency and continuity of facts, including tables, figures, and notifying designers of any design inconsistencies.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferably 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing or investment related fields and a high comfort level working on large-scale marketing related projects
- Familiarity with financial products (investments, annuities, retirement plans) and distribution models a plus
- Investment marketing-marketing and/or product management experience working with annuities and mutual funds/VITs/ETFs is preferred but not required
- Proofreading and editing skills - attention to detail
- Martech experience (Salesforce, Workfront, Marketing Cloud, Pardot, etc.) preferred
- Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) aptitude required
EDUCATION:
Bachelor level studies in marketing, business administration or related field.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS:
Series 6 required within 90 days /Series 7 preferred but not required
Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range. The role may also be eligible for either short-term or long-term incentive plans based on business and/or position-specific results. Newly hired full-time associates receive a minimum of 18 days paid time off each full calendar year, pro-rated quarterly based on hire date. Newly hired full-time associates at higher job levels may receive additional paid time off. You will also receive 8 hours of Lifetime paid time off and 8 hours of Unity Day paid time off. Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.
- Assists with the completion of moderate to complex projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.
- Assists with implementation of digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning and execution.
- Collaborates on and assists with creative development and provides feedback on look and feel.
- Uses customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and assists in forecasting market, competitor and customer needs and behavior, helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.
- Monitors timelines to ensure programs are on strategy and on schedule. Informs leader of any discrepancies.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Manager. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position; and associates will need to acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the designated time period. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
Experience: Typically five or more years demonstrated professional experience in marketing, strategy, consulting, financial services, or related field.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven marketing development and project management experience. Passionate about marketing and delivering positive customer experiences. Ability to lead multiple projects and drive forward key deliverables. Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively across functions and geographies. Ability to use analytics to draw conclusions and make recommendations. Excellent communicator, highly organized, and able to build effective partnerships across functions.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
