THE ROLE
Amylyx is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced individual to join our fast-paced team as Specialist, Procurement Operations. This newly created position will be part of a growing Procurement department and support Amylyx’s Procurement Operations function. Reporting into the Lead, Procurement Operations, the ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as previous experience in a global commercial life sciences organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executes the Purchase Order Management process for services and goods, including training and supporting internal stakeholders, issuing Purchase Orders to vendors, tracking order status, resolving invoice discrepancies, and closing out Purchase Orders.
- Owns the new vendor set-up and vendor master maintenance process
- Supports continuous improvement efforts in the Procure to Pay (P2P) process and implements solutions to streamline and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and appropriate approvals
- Interacts with vendors to ensure pricing accuracy, change order execution and on time delivery
- Supports report generation and Purchasing data analysis
- Assists in developing and maintaining training documentation and communication of Procurement policies, processes and practices to educate business partners
- Ensures compliance with Amylyx policies and procedures as well as adherence to SOX controls
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma required.
- 2-3 years  of demonstrated experience working in the Procurement function with focus on purchasing services and goods, ideally for life sciences/pharmaceutical companies in a GxP environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Purchasing principles, processes, and practices
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to grasp processes quickly and follow the principle of continuous improvement
- Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite experience a plus
- Hands-on team player with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Competence in communicating and collaborating with business partners in various departments and vendors in multiple industries
- Experience in independently prioritizing and managing multiple tasks/projects to meet deadlines
