We'd love to talk with you if you bring:
- Ability to deliver extraordinary outcomes and help lead teammates to do the same
- Experience preferred with Flutter/Dart, Java, Springboot, APIs, Jenkins, or AWS
- Understanding of mobile application design patterns, UI/UX design, modern services architecture & integration patterns as well as the ability to quickly understand new & emerging technologies.
- Experience and appreciation for working in a mature product operating model, leveraging End-to-End Agile practices and DevSecOps
- Comfort with being empowered to figure out the best way to solve the dynamic and complex problems you'll be faced with
- Strong problem solving skills
- Willingness to work in and promote a collaborative, trusting, and psychologically safe environment where team members can speak freely, offer opinions, respectfully disagree, admit mistakes, and give/receive feedback
- Natural curiosity and ability to quickly learn and apply innovative technology to create compelling solutions

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
- Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
- Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
- Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Nationwide utilizes a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Colorado is$77,500.00 - $119,000.00
Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Ithaca, New York is$77,500.00 - $160,500.00
