Make a Difference

The Testing/Outreach Specialist will provide HIV related Counseling, Testing and Referral services. The Testing/Outreach Specialist will conduct targeted outreach to high-risk HIV negative individuals. The Specialist will link individuals to HIV treatment, health information, education, referrals, risk reduction interventions, condom distribution, and STI awareness, testing and treatment.

Your Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• Provide HIV Counseling, Testing and Referrals to at-risk populations in compliance with the standards put forth by the Indiana State Department of Health
• Conduct targeted outreach to at-risk populations
• Engage at-risk populations in their own neighborhoods or venues where they typically congregate to provide HIV related health information, education, referrals and linkage to care services
• Link individuals to medical care for HIV infection and other support services
• Maintain effective communication with Community Infectious Disease (CIDC) medical case managers
• Assist Ryan White Grant Manager in growing CIDC prevention programs
• Work at both East and North locations
• Complete data collection, entry and reporting
• Provide HIV positive test results
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• Successfully complete the CDC/ISDH HIV Tester training.

• Equipped to work with multicultural and diverse populations.

• Self-motivated and willing to work flexible shifts and flexible locations.

• Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

• Fluency in Spanish a plus
